Facilities

To improve the comfort for our visitors, we can offer a specially adapted carriage that is fully accessible to wheelchair users and is available on all trains. Passengers in wheelchairs have access into the main saloon, where there is space for up to 3 wheelchairs, and 4 passengers with limited mobility. Access into the coach is via a ramp, so please tell the guard or station staff when you arrive so that they are able to assist you.

  • Wheel chair access to Rowsley South, Darley Dale and Matlock Platform 2 stations
  • One carer can travel free with one full fare-paying person with a disability (This applies to normal operating days only)

ROWSLEY

  • Free Car Parking at Rowsley South (for 200 cars)
  • Toilets at Rowsley South (Disabled toilets and baby changing facilities also available)
  • The Buffet situated on the platform is open on all running days from 10.15am and offers visitors to the railway hot and cold food and delicious cakes, freshly made cobs and mouth-watering bacon rolls
  • Souvenir Gift Shop
  • For Walking and Cycling enthusiasts there is adjacent to the railway line a newly constructed cycleway/footpath between Rowsley and Matlock
  • Local Riverside Walks

DARLEY DALE

  • Free Car Parking at Darley Dale (limited space)
  • Toilets at Darley Dale (Disabled toilets and baby changing facilities also available)
  • Museum (Depicting the History of the Line)
  • Waiting Area
  • Easy Access to Whitworth Park

MATLOCK

  • Pay and display car park at Matlock Station
  • Toilets at Matlock Station situated adjacent to the Bus Station (fee payable)
  • Small wooden waiting area on Platform 2

ON THE TRAIN

  • Some of our trains have a mini-buffet on board serving a variety of bottled real ale, cans of beer, lager and cider, a range of spirts and wine together with a selection of soft drinks. Hot drinks, pre-packed cakes, crisps, sweets and chocolate are also available for you to purchase
  • Toilets
  • Dogs – Well behaved dogs can travel on our trains free of charge. There are restrictions for some of our special events including our Santa and Dining trains – except for assistance dogs who can travel on all services throughout the year.
