Come and see the trains hard at work at our first Mixed Traffic Gala 2019 on the 10th and 11th August.
Passenger and freight trains will be working intensive timetabled services.
We will have up to six working locomotives including
- Class 44 D8 “Penyghent”
- Class 25 D7659
- Kitson Lambton Tank No.29 (Courtesy of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway)
- Beyer Peacock 1827 of 1878 (Courtesy of the Foxfield Railway)

Visiting Main Line steam locomotive update…
Peak Rail apologises that we have been informed by Network Rail that there is no route clearance available to allow Black Five “The Sherwood Forester” to come to Peak Rail for our Steam and Diesel Gala to be held on the 10th/11th August, 2019. Good News is that it has been booked for our Gala in 2020.
Update on D7659
We are very disappointed that despite huge efforts, D7659 will not be pulling any trains at the Mixed Traffic Gala on Satruday 10th and 11th August. However, D7659 will be on display on the turntable at Rowsley and the engine will be run up every hour.
Other special attractions on the day will be
- Class 37310 on display
- Drive a loco for a Tenner
- Real Ale tent all weekend
A special timetable and fares will apply to this event.
Adults £15.00 Day rover
Senior citizens £12 Day rover
Children aged 5 and over £8 Day rover
Please Note: Locomotives will be as advertised but Peak Rail reserve the right to make changes.
