2021 Programme to be announced
In early 2020 we started work to re-generate our site in Buxton. This site was part of the terminus to the old Midland Railway line. Some of track bed is still in our ownership along with the bridge over Bridge Street. The platform remains and still has the water crane which is visible from the main road. Work in 2020 has involved the clearing of over 30 years of vegetation and the repair of boundary fencing. If you would like to get involved and volunteer some time, please join Peak Railway Association.
Our new venue for the Buxton Branch meetings is The Conservative Club, 3-5 Concert Place, Buxton SK176EE which is just off the market place. There is ample free parking there after 6.00pm. The room is available from 7.00pm and the meeting will start at 7.30pm. There is no charge for attendance but we do ask for a minimum donation of £3 to cover our costs for the guest speaker and room hire. Further information on the Social Evenings and other Branch activities can be obtained from Gordon Caro on 0129824687 or 07961228322
The main functions of the Buxton Branch are to support the Peak Railway Association by raising funds, volunteering to support the Peak Rail operations and helping to publicising the Railway.
We have a keen but small Committee so would welcome an approach from anybody with a small amount of time to spare to help us fulfil our objectives and possibly expand our activities.
