‘A Strange Encounter at Darley Dale’
Friday 10th July
Steam hauled train departing from Rowsley South Station at 7.00pm.
An evening of Whodunnit with professional artists The Foul Players and luxury 4 Course Meal
It is 1954 and the famous circus performer ‘Haree The Clown’ has sent out identical invitations to friends, acquaintances and colleagues for an ‘all expenses paid’ trip to a place that is apparently important in his life … Darley Dale … Haree is an unusual performer … a ‘method clown’. Basically, no-one has seen his face without makeup … ever!
The reason for the trip is, ‘on the surface’, a way of getting all his acquaintances together so that the author of his biography (who has also been invited) can interview them all in one go, but, in reality, Haree wants a ‘blackmail letter’ investigated and wants all the suspects in one place.
The guests on the trip are not all known to each other, and Haree himself is not present. Everyone is expecting him to turn up at some stage, but there has been no sign of him yet.
