Afternoon Teas Information

Trains operate on most Saturdays throughout the year and will leave Rowsley South station at 14.15 for a full round trip though the beautiful Derwent valley whilst you enjoy a delicious Afternoon Tea.

Our Afternoon Tea consist of a selection of sandwiches and a piece of homemade quiche followed by a homemade scone served with clotted cream, butter and strawberry preserve, fresh strawberries and a selection of homemade cakes all served with a choice of either tea or coffee.

Prices are as follows:

£45 for Adult and Senior Citizens.

£28 for Children aged 5-15 years.

Children under 5 are free (Excludes food).

Seat reservation price is inclusive of the meal and train fare and a complimentary glass of Prosecco.

If you have a pre-purchased Gift Voucher, you should have received an email from us with your new Gift Voucher enclosed.

At Peak Rail, due to being a volunteer run organisation which requires us to work flexibly around our ordinary jobs, our working days, hours and the times we are able to respond may differ from that of standard office hours. Please do not worry if we do not respond straight away and rest assured we will get back to you as soon as we can.

General Notes

Menu & dietary requirements: All our afternoon tea trains have a fixed menu and food must be pre ordered at least 5 workings days prior to the date of travel. Due to catering constraints, we are unable to offer an alternative to the menu with the exception of a vegetarian option.

Please note that it is impossible for us to provide an alternative to the fixed menu if we are only advised on the day.

Dogs: No dogs except assistance dogs are allowed in the dining coach.

Children: Children must always be supervised and remain seated during the service.

Cancellations: Cancellation or rearrangement of dates must be made at least a minimum of seven days prior to the Afternoon Tea.  No refunds made if less than seven days notice is given.

Wheelchair access: We regret that owing to historic design of the dining coaches, wheelchair users cannot be accommodated. Please note that passengers with mobility difficulties will need to climb up or down one step. (A ramp is available, please state if required at the time of booking).
