An all-day unlimited ticket (rover ticket) gives you the opportunity to travel all day on the railway. You can get on and off at any of our stations, have a look around and go back on any scheduled train.

Yes. There is wheelchair access to Rowsley South , Darley Dale and Matlock Platform 2 . To improve the comfort for visitors we offer a specially adapted carriage that is fully wheelchair accessible. Access to the coach is via a ramp, so please tell the guard or station staff when you arrive as they will be able to assist you.
Unfortunately the engine shed is not open to the general public.
Well behaved dogs can travel on all trains free of charge. There are restrictions for some of our special events including our Santa and Dining Trains – except for assistance dogs who can travel on all services throughout the year.
All tickets can be purchased on the day from the Ticket Office at Rowsley South Station, Ticket Inspector on the train or Matlock Shop situated on Matlock Station Platform 1
No. You do not need to pre-book your tickets(s) for our ordinary steam/diesel operating days. However for all our dining and Santa trains you will need to book in advance. Details of these can be found on our website.

Yes – Cycles can be accommodated in the Guards Brake Van. Unfortunately this facility is not available on Santa trains.
