About the Event
Santa and his Railway Helpers invite you to get Christmas off to a magical start by riding Santa’s festive steam train, through the delightful Derwent Valley. Join them on their special train at Peak Rail from Rowsley South Station. As you sit back and enjoy the journey, a variety of professional entertainers will perform for you, Santa and his helpers will make their way through the train and meet everyone at their seat. Santa will have with him a wonderful age suitable gift for all the children. Children will receive a drink and snack each, whilst Adults can sit back and enjoy a glass of wine and a mince pie (Dietary requirements can be catered for and bottle of water/juice available upon pre-booked request.)

These include return train journey (lasting approximately 1 Hour & 10 minutes), a wonderful age suitable gift, a drink and snack for each child, whilst Adults can sit back and enjoy a glass of wine and a mince pie (Dietary requirements can be catered for and bottle of water/juice available upon pre-booked request).

Saturdays: 5th, 12th & 19th
Sundays: 6th, 13th & 20th
Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th
And Depart at the following times
- 10:30
- 12:20
- 14:10
- 16:00 (Does not run on 24th December)
About the Seating & Accessibility
Tickets are only sold by Table. We are unable to sell individual seats.
Due to limited space and safety reasons we can only accommodate the specified number of passengers per table/compartment as stated on the booking. The only exception to this is the option for Children aged 0-18 Months sat on a knee, up to a maximum of 2 per Table/Compartment.
Due to limited space on the train, only assistance dogs are allowed on the train.
Accessibility for Wheelchair Users
We regret that due to the historic nature of the carriages, we are unable to accommodate wheelchair users in any other carriages other than the wheelchair accessible space in coach F. In this space we can accommodate one party of up to two people plus one wheelchair user on each train, please contact us directly at santa@peakrail.co.uk or call us on 07514 953 353 if you need further information. Please be aware that due to being a volunteer run organisation, we may not always be able to answer the phone, if so please leave a message and we will get back to you.

These Santa Special Terms & Conditions are specific to this event and supersede any cancellation or rearrangement conditions in the General Terms and Conditions
Once a booking has been taken alterations can be accepted by Peak Rail. (i.e. adding people or changing the date or time) subject to sufficient availability on the train and an administration fee of £25. Alterations can be accepted up until Friday 20th November 2026, after this time no alterations will be accepted.
No refunds will be made after purchase of your tickets – this includes but is not limited to: Incorrect time/date booked, no longer wishing to travel, passengers who miss the train due to late arrival or sickness or due to weather conditions unless Peak Rail cannot operate the service.

Every effort with be made to provide the Santa Services as advertised, however sometimes circumstances outside our control may force us to amend the timetable or vary any of the provisions of the Santa services. Peak Rail reserves the right to amend or vary without prior notice, no liability for loss, inconvenience or delay can be accepted by Peak Rail.
