Ride vintage steam-hauled trains along our scenic line through the stunning Derwent Valley.

• Freight Trains

Catch impressive steam locos hauling traditional freight – just like they used to.

• Intensive Timetable

Expect a packed schedule with frequent departures and non-stop railway action.

• Turntable Demonstrations

See live turntable action as locos are turned the old-fashioned way at Rowsley.

• Brake Van Rides

Climb aboard a working brake van and discover the railways from a goods guard’s perspective. (Limited space available, first come first serve).

• Footplate Visits

Visit the footplate of the locomotives whilst at Matlock Riverside (first come first serve, only available at Matlock Riverside)

• On Train Bar

Enjoy a drink on board from our heritage train bar — featuring local ales, light refreshments and also serving hot, cold & soft drinks.

• Yard Shunting Demonstrations

Watch yard shunting take place to prepare for departures!

• Diesel Shunter Driver for a Fiver

Have a go driving our Diesel Shunter along a dedicated piece of track. Tickets from the booking office (Cash or Card) or on the loco (Cash only)
