Rowsley South Station which was opened in Easter 1997 is the northern terminus of the railway and is located in 28 acres, situated on the site of the former LMS/BR locomotive depot.


Here you will find buffet facilities, an exhibition showing the history of the building of Peak Rail by volunteers, gift shop and extensive picnic area. This station is also home to the various committed groups and private individuals which have made Peak Rail their home.


Another attraction on this site is the Derbyshire Dales Narrow Gauge Railway which is situated adjacent to the picnic area.


Here you find the Steam Locomotive Engine Shed with engineering workshop facilities and refurbished turntable.

This station is also the home to the Heritage Shunters Trust, Renown Repulse Restoration Group & LMS Carriage Association.
